The Campus Director Dr. Vincent Machuki in collaboration with the Regional Commissioner Mr. Kianda and the County Commissioner Mrs. Pauline Dola launched the registration for the National Integrated Identity Management System (NIIMS) commonly referred to as Huduma Namba at University of Nairobi, Kisumu.
On November 7, 2018, The University of Nairobi, Kisumu Campus, hosted the first ever Mr. and Miss Environment Kenya, Kisumu County; an event organized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources of the County Government of Kisumu. The objective was to create awareness and develop a generation of environment enthusiasts and advocates. All the contestants were expected to be the County Environmental Peace Ambassadors who will spearhead Green Initiatives and address problems related to environmental degradation within the County.
On November 13, 2018, The University of Nairobi, Kisumu Campus, participated in the women’s ‘Heels Dinner’ held at the Vic Hotel. The Campus was represented by three ladies from the Management Committee. Organized by Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), the function was attended by both corporate organizations and individual members. Apart from the University of Nairobi, other notable organisations were Kenya Commercial Bank, Safaricom and Great Lakes University.
The University of Nairobi Management organized a one-day retreat for the University of Nairobi Student Association (UNSA) Kisumu Campus Student Leaders. The retreat was held on November 1, 2018 at Kenya School of Monetary Studies in Nairobi.
The Department of literature lead by the Chair Dr. Masumi Odari, Soka University Students and the UoN Students from the Department of Literature visited Raha Centre Boys Community Services, for volunteer missions and the word of encouragement.
The Department of Literature received guest from Ravenna.and are Mr Marco Martinelli. He, together with Ermanna Montanari, Luigi Dadina and Marcella Nonni, established the Teatro Della Albe in 1983; the company is based in Ravenna and presents its shows all over the world.
The Department of Geography & Environmental Studies and the African Studies Centre in Leiden, Netherlands held a one-day project kick-off workshop on 3rd July 2013 at the University of Nairobi (UoN). The two institutions are involved in a collaborative project on “Food Planning and Innovation for Sustainable Metropolitan Regions (FOODMETRES): The Nairobi Case Study”.
